“Peaks” by Acre Designs, consisting of Aisha Nasution, Ella Mah & Leila Berg, is a modular furniture piece inspired and shaped around Vancouver’s landscape; its balance between urban life and nature. The prompt of the semester long project was to re-imagine design and the user experience of live/ work / play within the context of modern homes. Aspects of the project focused largely on woodwork and furniture design. The product we collectively created titled “Peaks” takes its name from its leveled surfaces and mountainesque silhouette, providing a form that is multipurpose yet still playful. The project is in collaboration with BoConcept and Emily Carr University of Art + Design of which the design won third place within the class competition.
