For this project I worked alongside Megan Zieth in which we designed a lighting product. The brief objective was to create an illuminated fixture with wood as the main material component. Taking inspiration from organic forms and movement to produce an ambient light that incorporates a variety of textures and properties. As a pair we were drawn to reflective and moving lighting and had used this to explore different mediums from textiles to plastics.
GLOO. The construction of the light fixture incorporates wood work, laser cutting and 3D printing. Our collaboration lead to the final design of a shadow box which includes colored acrylic panels inside that can be rotated to illuminate different hues. The front features graphic laser cut-outs layered with frosted acrylic to soften and diffuse the light.

Material: Baltic Birch, PLA filament + Acrylic
Processes : Woodwork, laser cutting + Rhino 3D modeling
